Commercial Flooding

This page details a commercial flood, in Greenwich, in a building that used to accommodate the police academy.

Our emergency engineers were called out to investigate a potential flood.  On arrival it became apparent the basement of the building and first floor area had completely flooded due to vandalism.

We had to remove approximately 25 tons of contaminated water.  Working along side the environmental office and our client we were able to remove the waste from the basement area, allowing our engineers to work in a safe and controlled environment, using very large portable pumps and hoses to remove the remaining bulk of the water that was in the commercial boiler room.

Once the engineers were able to get into the basement area, they verified that the cause was due to a vandalised Victorian water main that had flooded the vacant premises throughout, due to all copper piping and a copper 45,000 volt armoured cable being stolen from the premises, preventing the electricity to run the pumped system in the building up to street level i.e. Thames Water drain .

All workmanship and materials are guaranteed for ten years.
